Anne Pierce, Chief Executive of Springboard UK and the Springboard Charitable Trust scooped The Cateys Special Award at the prestigious awards ceremony held at Grosvenor House.
Catey awards, recognised as the Oscars of the hospitality industry, have been won by many stars of the industry and Pierce is in good company, following such eminent people as Lord Coe, Brian Turner, Bob Cotton, and Sir Rocco Forte.
The Special Award recognises someone who has made a significant contribution to their sector of the hospitality or catering industry, or who has established a consistently outstanding record.
Pierce paid tribute to the team at Springboard when speaking about her win, “The Award is really and truly for all of Springboard - a tribute to everyone's hard work and achievements over the years.” “I know it's a cliché,” she said, “but it's down to everyone that Springboard achieves the immense amount it does - so thank you team! They are the real stars not me.”
Pierce has taken Springboard from a London-based organisation to one that has centres across the country and promotes hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industries to potential recruits, through its raft of programmes designed to inspire and encourage them into a career. Springboard’s programmes now reach in excess of three million people every year.
