Head of Work Experience

The Organisation:
The Springboard Charity is a charity which supports young, unemployed and disadvantaged people to secure employment within the Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism industries. Its trading subsidiary, Springboard UK is committed to promoting the aforementioned industries as a “first choice” career whilst sustaining brand awareness of their varying business partner organisations and heightening their reputation as employers. A new exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Springboard team as Head of Work Experience.

The Job:
In the role Head of Work Experience your main responsibility is to be responsible for the overall development, delivery, monitoring and quality assurance of the Springboard’s work experience programmes, including the development of the programme as a revenue stream and to deliver on related agreements with our business partners, sponsors or funding partners in line with budget and to agreed timescales.

The Person:
To be successful in the role of Head of Work Experience it is preferable that you have both proven success in a similar role within a charity organisation and a knowledge and understanding of the Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism industries.  It is essential that you can demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Passionate about work experience and the importance it has on career seekers and employers
  • Excellent strategic development skills
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection;
  • Experience of managing budgets and using financial records;
  • Experience of liaising with local/national agencies and services;
  • Experience of managing operational change and motivating staff;
  • A proven track record of developing and delivering successful projects;
  • Ability to priorities a varied workload and work to high standards under pressure;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Determination, Commitment and drive to deliver effectively in a youth work environment;

The Rewards:
The salary for the role of Head of Work Experience Programme who excels at interview stage will be in the region of £27,000 to £30,000 pa.  In addition the successful candidate will have 25 days annual leave and a great opportunity to develop their career.
